Summer

Summer has been absolutely mental out here in Colorado. I’ve made time to explore more of my state quite possibly than ever before – and enjoyed every second while doing so. Cummulatively I’ve probably hiked close to 30 miles so far this summer – and I still have a lot more left to do. Some of the highlights from the season so far have been the multitude of National Forest hikes I’ve tried for the first time and enjoyed, the stellar dispersed camping experience I had, and all of the wildlife I’ve seen along the way.

Spring

Our area of the mountains is lovely in the Spring. We’ve been taking advantage of it (as much as we can while juggling visitors) and we’re both excited by the prospect of being able to routinely go on sunset hikes again! I even plan on trying to get a few in before work some days once the sunrise is early enough (around 5 AM).

Winter

It was a cool (pun not intended but appreciated) winter. The sun rise was late all winter long – meaning we didn’t have to wake up at obscene hours to get some early morning hiking and views in. I wish it were a snowier winter but you work with what you get. I still managed to get quite a few snowy hikes in under my belt before the season was over.
